CC SMALL GROUPS

The church is a community of people….not a thing or a place but a living, breathing, group of people connected to their God and to each other.  At Hephatha, we believe that small communities of believers are some of the best places to get connected to Jesus and other believers.
Community Connections small groups are places where people get together to read and study God’s word, talk about how it applies to their lives, and pray for each other.

                                       Community...friends...faith...life

Group # 1
If my marriage is supposed to be so good, why do I sometimes feel so bad?
If you ever ask this, you may be a victim of one of the following “attacks” on the modern marriage:
Busyness    Boredom     Debt
Irritability      Drift               Pain from the Past

You can learn how to deal with the above potential pitfalls.
Also, learn more about the following ideas that affect a couple’s ability to make marriage work:
1.  Dealing with conflict in ways that can actually strengthen a marriage.
2.  Strengthening couples to withstand common pressures.
3.  Addressing myths about marriage.
4.  Providing ways in which the faiths of two spouses merge and grow together.

“Communicate, Care, Carry, Cheer…(these are) simple ideas based in Scripture that can help make your marriage work.”  Drs. Les & Leslie Parrott.
This course will meet on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. (October 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd) at the home of Ruben and Elsa Arbues. This CC small group is located at 3765 Welsh Pony Lane, Yorba Linda, CA, 92886. To sign-up, please feel free to contact either the Arbues family at (714) 701-0960 or the church office at (714) 637-0887 ext. 155.

Group # 2
Kids are going to push the boundaries, and they’re great at pushing buttons. It’s their job. Learn about different communication styles to help you listen better. Discuss ways to be consistent at setting healthy boundaries that not only prevent conflict and meltdown, but also coach your kids into becoming secure and independent adults. Most importantly, you’ll take home strategies that work.
This CC small group will start September 23rd  and concludes on October 28th. The CC small group will meet on Tuesdays at 9:15 a.m. in the youth center on the church campus. For more information, call Pastor Arthur Andrews (714) 637-0887 156 or

GROUP # 3
This year, our Men of Word Bible study will go through a life-changing and thought-provoking apologetics series that asks: Was Jesus Christ resurrected? Is Jesus Christ God? What is the Trinity? Is the Bible reliable? Who is God? As a result of this series, you’ll be better prepared to give an answer to others as to what you believe to be true about God, Christ, the Bible, and Christianity.
This group will start up on September 18th and continues through the year. The Men of the Word will meet every other Thursday at 7:15 a.m. in the youth center.  For meeting times and location, please contact the facilitators Pastor Arthur Andrews at (714) 637-0887 ext. 156 or Price Maron

GROUP # 4
Do all religions worship the same God? This study will help you answer this question by simultaneously dealing with the following tough questions:

By thoughtfully examining these questions, this CC small group will engage in the kind of dialogue that shows the Christian faith can stand up to scrutiny.
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”  (John 14:6).
Brent Wagstaff and Kevin Wood will co-facilitate  a 4-week Apologetics focused CC small group study. The CC small group study meets on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. in the youth center.  This CC small group will start meeting October 5th. To register, call Brent Wagstaff at (714) 342-5597 or contact Pastor Arthur Andrews at (714) 637-0887 ext. 156. Or

FAQs

What is a CC small group?
A gathering of 6 – 14 people committed to meet on a regular basis for fellowship, mutual care, study, prayer, and service. Mature and proven leaders lead group discussions. There are groups available for couples, singles, men and women, and people at virtually every life stage.

How important are CC small groups?
At Hephatha, we believe that Community Groups are essential to church life and to our growth as authentic followers of Jesus Christ.  In short, Community Connections small  groups provide a place where we can be real with others, study God’s Word, and experience true Christian relationships.

What will we study?
The studies are based on what has been decided by the group. Some study a book of the Bible, a topical study, a video series relating to special interest (e.g. parenting or marriage) or studies pertaining to the previous Sunday sermon.

What if I don't connect with other people in the group or my schedule changes?
You are always welcome to try another group to find one that fits your schedule and life stage.
